Camera mapping (object space modifier) allows you to apply UV mapping to an object based on the direction a camera is pointing.

On the left is before the camera mapping is applied to the cube. The right cube has camera mapping applied with the camera seen in the left picture as the selected camera.

Using the camera map modifier it is possible to make objects blend into a background or with other objects.
